Music, editions and recording details

New Project Stray Horns explores Billy Strayhorn through a collective approach to arranging. From Lush Life and Chelsea Bridge to Take The “A” Train and Blood Count, horns and rhythm section revisit the repertoire with varied colours and room for ensemble dialogue.

The programme includes the Duke Ellington collaborations Star Crossed Lovers and Isfahan, alongside Roberto Spadoni’s Dolls. Several members of the group, formed within the New Project association between Trento and Bolzano, contribute arrangements.
