A NEW CHRISTMAS IN DIXIE STYLE - TIGER DIXIE BAND

The Tiger Dixie Band brings fifteen Christmas melodies into the world of traditional jazz and Dixieland. A New Christmas in Dixie Style reimagines familiar tunes such as Stille Nacht, Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland and White Christmas through the collective sound of brass and reeds, banjo, piano and rhythm section. Alongside international seasonal standards is the Italian carol Tu scendi dalle stelle; the programme also includes New Christmas, a medley and two versions of Oh Tannenbaum. The arrangements emphasise rhythm and the exchange among instruments associated with early jazz.
