Music, editions and recording details

Roberto Gatto brings together Alessandro Presti, Matteo Bortone and Alessandro Lanzoni for Four Stories. Eight compositions by members of the quartet meet Mary Lou Williams' Kool and Gary Peacock's Gardenia: ten tracks recorded at the 2023 fonè Music Festival Piaggio for trumpet, piano, double bass and drums.

Recording and mastering

Recorded on 11 March 2023 at the Auditorium Museo Piaggio, Pontedera. Stereo DSD recording on Pyramix with dCS A/D and D/A converters, Neumann U47, U48 and M49 valve microphones, Signoricci preamplifiers and cables. Tracks retained as performed, without editing.
