AT TIME IT IS - Vincenzo Cipriani

Pianist and composer Vincenzo Cipriani explores chamber jazz, pop, funk and Latin rhythms, with echoes of Baroque music, on At Times It Is. A piano, electric bass and drums trio forms the core ensemble, with Piero Massa's viola and Cinzia Tedesco's voice appearing on selected pieces. Ten original compositions, including W.A. Sebastian and Frescobaldi, reflect a meeting of written music and improvisation.

Recording and mastering

The instrumental sessions were recorded at Areamagister Studios, Preganziol, Italy, on 19–21 August 2018, in digital 88.2 kHz / 24 bit. Cinzia Tedesco's voice was recorded separately by Angelo Cannarile at Studio Strada Recording, Matera, on 23 August 2018. Selected tracks are described as live in studio; this should not be interpreted as one uninterrupted live recording of the whole album.
