REFLECTIONS | Mazzariello

Reflections is a solo piano album by Julian Oliver Mazzariello, combining jazz standards, familiar themes and original compositions in a programme of improvisation and melodic exploration. From Body & Soul and On Green Dolphin Street to Thelonious Monk, Autumn Leaves and Over the Rainbow, Mazzariello intersperses the international repertoire with his own works including Mutual, Mare Nostrum, Funky Chunks and Try to Be Bop. The LP contains eight tracks; SACD and digital editions present the complete eleven-track programme.

Recording and mastering

Recorded live on 24 September 2019 at the Auditorium of the Museo Piaggio in Pontedera. Produced and recorded by Giulio Cesare Ricci, using the Fonè analogue and digital DSD recording setup with dCS converters and Pyramix. Neumann U47, U48 and M49 valve microphones are documented. The SACD mastering uses the Signoricci valve-based signal path; the performances are presented without editing cuts.
