Likewise pairs pianist Julian Mazzariello with double bassist Enzo Pietropaoli, recorded at the Piaggio Museum Auditorium in Pontedera during the 2019 Piaggio fonè Music Festival. Jazz standards, Ornette Coleman and Miles Davis pieces and two originals are interpreted with the natural acoustics characteristic of fonè recordings.

Recording and mastering

Analogue Ampex ATR-102 tape system and parallel Pyramix/dCS digital recording, using Neumann U47, U48 and M49 valve microphones. Separate analogue vinyl master and digital DSD SACD master. LP mastered through Signoricci valve-based analogue chain without equalization, reverb, compression or expansion.
