"Why title an album of songs inspired by the landscapes, history, and secret corners of America Dreamland?
The answer lies entirely in the meaning we've given to the word "dream." In these poetic-musical visions, America isn't the real America we all know. It's a magical, even initiatory, place where everything America has given us throughout its and our history converges and coexists; all distilled in the inspiration of a journey that lives within itself, and becomes its own destination: a destination we love to sing about, a "dreamland" we stubbornly insist on inhabiting.

The songs on Dreamland are therefore inspired by the great tradition of both great American songwriters, from Tom Waits to Ryan Bingham, from Woody Guthrie to Bob Dylan, as well as by the great "native" musical tradition that spans blues and jazz.
