Music, editions and recording details

On Two for the Road, singer Chiara Pastò and pianist Francesco Pollon explore nine pieces with the freedom of a jazz duo. The programme ranges from 'Round Midnight and Close Your Eyes to the Henry Mancini song that gives the album its title. Alongside jazz standards, there is Astor Piazzolla's Libertango with new lyrics by Pastò, and Just a Smile, written by Enrico Santacatterina and Chiara Pastò and reinterpreted here for voice and piano. The conversation between vocal phrasing and the piano shapes the record, captured live in the studio in 2023.
