Music, editions and recording details

Francesco Mascio returns to jazz tradition with original music that brings together Latin, world, soul, free improvisation and classical writing. My Standards combines compositions developed over the years with collective improvisation: on CD, Esharef’s moment and Soul of New York explore that shared dimension.

The leader’s guitars converse with saxophone, bass, double bass and drums. Notes from the heart closes the CD programme with solo classical guitar. LP and CD have different programmes, listed separately.

The project uses 432 Hz tuning.

Recorded in the analogue domain with digital archiving at 192 kHz / 32 bit through a Metric Halo ULN8 3D converter. Mixing and mastering in the analogue domain with external tube equipment.

Analogue mastering onto RTM SM900 tape with an Ampex ATR102 two-channel, 1/2-inch tape recorder. The archiving specifications describe the production process.
