Music, editions and recording details

Julian Mazzariello at the piano and Enzo Pietropaoli on double bass meet in Easytude Live, a duo concert recorded during the 2019 fonè Music Festival Piaggio. With no other instruments, the musicians maintain a continuous exchange of melody, rhythm and improvisation. From Time After Time and When I Fall in Love to two Cole Porter songs, Bluesette and Footprints, the programme draws on different strands of jazz. Recorded without editing, the album has different tracklists by format: the LP contains eight pieces, while SACD and the digital editions also include Some Other Time.

Recorded live on 26 March 2019 at the Auditorium of the Museo Piaggio in Pontedera during the first fonè Music Festival Piaggio. Conceived, recorded and produced by Giulio Cesare Ricci, with recording assistance by Paola Liberato. Neumann U47, U48 and M49 valve microphones and Signoricci components were used. The analogue master employed a two-track Ampex ATR 102; the digital DSD recording used Pyramix and dCS converters.

Edition technology

Fonè documents analogue recording and cutting, One-Stage pressing on 180 g virgin vinyl, and a limited edition of 496 copies for the LP. Vinyl mastering was carried out by Giulio Cesare Ricci using the Signoricci system.
