Portraits features Clark Terry leading a quartet whose jazz combines swing, bebop and humour. Terry alternates trumpet and flugelhorn with occasional vocals, supported by Don Friedman's piano and an energetic rhythm section.
Eight portraits of jazz history
Standards such as Pennies from Heaven and Sugar Blues sit alongside Terry's original Finger Filibuster, a showcase for his distinctive scat singing. The vinyl programme features eight tracks from the album first released by Chesky Records in 1989.
