A great record is not defined only by its rarity, format or technical specifications. What matters is what happens when the music begins: a soloist's imagination, a conversation between musicians, the freedom of improvisation and the feeling of a performance.
An album captures people, ideas and a creative moment. Some recordings belong to jazz history; others are discoveries being made today. We make room for both memory and discovery.
We value thoughtful editions and well-made recordings, but technology should never overshadow the music. Vinyl, CD, SACD and digital files are different ways to experience an album, each worth exploring.
