Music, editions and recording details
Warm bassoon and the bright colours of vibraphone and marimba come together on Variazioni climatiche, a project by Andrea Bressan and Saverio Tasca at the intersection of jazz, contemporary music and traditions from several countries. The repertoire draws on Lyle Mays, Chick Corea, Egberto Gismonti, Paul Ben-Haim and other composers.
Instruments and musical cultures
The fourteen pieces move between lyrical passages, Brazilian- and South African-inspired rhythms, chamber-music textures and improvisation. Chorinho, Desperation and Crystal Silence / Captain Marvel reveal the varied character of this unusual pairing.
