Music, editions and recording details

Luca Mannutza approaches Wayne Shorter through rhythm: metric modulation, uneven metres and shifts in mood offer fresh perspectives on familiar melodies and harmonies. With Paolo Recchia on saxophone, Daniele Sorrentino on double bass and Lorenzo Tucci on drums, the pianist explores ten compositions, from Yes or no to Footprints. The Uneven Shorter finds new possibilities for the quartet within Shorter’s repertoire.
