Cheryl Porter joins the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, conducted by Maffeo Scarpis, for a programme of love songs and jazz standards. Massimo Parente’s arrangements bring voice, rhythm trio and orchestra into dialogue, recalling the sound of orchestral vocal albums of the late 1950s and early 1960s. From The Summer Knows and Bewitched to Someone to Watch Over Me and Smile, Falling in Love explores the American song repertoire before closing with The Sage, written by Parente and Porter.
