DO IT! - VITTORIO MATTEUCCI, SYNTAX QUARTET

Vittorio Matteucci's voice joins the Syntax Quartet for thirteen interpretations ranging from the Great American Songbook to Italian and South American songwriting. Arrangements by Bruno Cesselli and Federico Malaman place the vocals alongside piano, saxophones, double bass and drums.

From Broadway to songwriting

Nature Boy, The Man I Love and My Funny Valentine stand alongside Anna verrà, Vedrai vedrai and Alfonsina y el mar. Matteucci's original Mimmo is dedicated to Domenico Modugno; the final track is an alternate take of Vedrai vedrai.

Live-in-studio recording

Recorded on 16 July 2011 in the main hall of MagisterArea Studios, Preganziol, Italy, with a small invited audience. The performances were mixed directly to two-track stereo masters, simultaneously on ¼-inch analogue tape at 38 cm/s and 96 kHz / 24-bit digital PCM.
