Music, editions and recording details
Paolo Birro plays unaccompanied piano in a programme alternating Great American Songbook standards with original compositions. Capo d'astro brings out the relationship between the swing language of familiar songs and Birro's own studies, variations and nocturne.
Solo piano: standards and originals
Music by Irving Berlin, George and Ira Gershwin, Jerome Kern and Cole Porter sits alongside nine original Birro pieces: five Studi, three Variazioni and a Notturno. The fifteen tracks were recorded in 1998.
